5/2/2024 0 Comments Gish mascotI know the folks at GISHWHES aren’t big on items being photoshopped, but some of the items on the list had to be photoshopped, which I enjoy doing, and frankly, I’m good with photoshop. The items were crazy, weird, touching, and some seemed near impossible, as expected. I quickly scanned through the list making mental notes on what I could easily tackle and what I could maybe tackle. I was able to pull up the list (which went up at 2pm EST time and 11am PT) and see nearly 200 items. Although we had a week to do everything, we also only had a week to do everything. Which also happened to be the last day I was pet/house sitting for a friend and planning Chris’ surprise birthday party. The list went up on Saturday, August 2nd. So, our official team name ended up being Mischief-MismanagedlovesWinging-it. Any time teams are combined, the team names are combined with the word ‘loves’. We were short four people, so the folks who help run GISHWHES placed another small team with our group – some lovely young ladies from Canada. This year I’m unemployed and broke, but I’m glad I was pushed into doing it.Ī couple of our friends that live in North Carolina started the group and invited us to join their team, Mischief Mismanaged. We probably could have participated but it would likely be a lot harder to tackle most of the items. Perhaps I was a bit nervous about breaking out of my shell and doing weird things in public? Last year I was on a road trip with Chris. Not to say I didn’t want to participate, but every year I seemed to have made up excuses to get out of joining in the fun. I was actually put in a group without my knowledge. Although I’ve been a fan of Misha Collins for some time now, this was my first year participating in this worldwide record breaking scavenger hunt. Abnosome? Most definitely. Two weeks ago I (as well as Nerd-Base member Chris) participated in the Greatest International Scavenger Hunt the World Has Ever Seen, also known as GISHWHES. You know, in case the mascots got hungry. I made a few Easter egg and carrot cookies. The porcupanda was the mascot of the most recent 2017 GISHWHES hunt. The pouch makes the perfect place to hold an Easter bouquet, naturally. The slangaroo, a combination of a seal and a kangaroo, was the 2016 GISHWHES mascot. ![]() In reality*, Dinomite is an oafish despot, but I love how, in cookie form, he looks like he's crooning a sweet tune with all of his heart. ![]() The Elopus was the glorious 2014 GISHWHES mascot.ĭinomite is the 2015 GISHWHES mascot, a combination of a terrifying T-Rex and a.mite. The Fograt, a combination of a fog falcon and a rat was the very first GISHWHES mascot, from GISHWHES's inagural year, 2012.Īh, who could forget the Wooster, half wolf, half rooster, the Gishwhes mascot from 2013. I made some Easter egg and carrot cookies so the GISHWHES mascots would have something to snack on while waiting on the plate. They like to celebrate assorted spring holidays, too, after all. So of course I decided that I had to make a very special set of Gishy sugar cookies for our Easter celebration.Įver so lovely and delicate, pastel GISHWHES mascot sugar cookies, of course. ![]() My most-amazing-teammates-ever surprised me this week with a delightful package that included a full set of GISHWHES mascot cookie cutters. Have you ever heard of GISHWHES? The Greatest Scavenger Hunt the World Has Ever Seen? It's been going on since 2012, and I've been participating hte past two years (see my submissions to my team's contributions for 20 to get a sense of the wild and wacky shenannigans we get up to to make the world a more weird and wonderful place each August).
